This, in the past, has been a big favorite for us. Malty as all get-out with bitterness to match. In prior versions we had run it 5 gallons extract/specialty grains, this time around we went all grain. This was a cursed batch from the get go, the yeast starter didn’t start. Then while mashing the tubing that draws from the bottom of the kettle came loose so we plugged the pump suction, the suction line showed signs of blockage even after that so in mid batch we changed the fittings which helped a lot. The outside temperature was in the low 20’s, anything we spilled or sprayed was freezing immediately, the hose nearly froze up on three occasions. All in all though we ended up with what looked to be some really nice wort.
