Old Howling Bastard Barleywine - we had this on tap at Union Jack's Inn on the Manatawny, a nice pub with good food and a very good beer list.
This is a barleywine but it is a lighter color than what I am used to for that style. It also had more of an IPA nose to it, very floral or hoppy. It had a great flavor that transformed from the initial sip to swallowing to finish, not unpleasant but different.
Overall a very good beer (in moderation at 10% ABV), but as in inferred, not what I was expecting for a barleywine.
If you are around the Boyertown area and you like beer, then stop by Union Jack's, a wonderful place to just hang out and try some new or rare beers. It also helps that the staff overall is pretty darn knowledgeable as well.
